Chief Nursing Officer, Welsh Assembly Government
Rosemary Kennedy has held a variety of senior management posts including Director of Nursing Services for both community services and acute services and general management posts. Her last post was that of Executive Nurse Director at Addenbrookes NHS Trust University of Cambridge Teaching Hospital. Rosemary joined the Civil Service as Chief Nursing Officer to the then Welsh Office at the end of January 1999. This post is one of the four UK Chief Nursing Officer posts supporting Government administration.
Professor Donna Mead, O.B.E
Professor of Nursing and Dean of Faculty of Healthcare Science, University of Glamorgan
Donna Mead is a Professor of Nursing and Dean of Faculty of Healthcare Science at the University of Glamorgan. She is currently Chair of CYNGOR - the forum which represents to voice of nursing and allied health education in Wales. She is an experienced nurse, educator and research and is grant holder of RCBC (Research Capacity Building Collaboration), a consortium of Welsh Higher Education institutes providing PhD and post-doctoral fellowships in order to increase research capacity and ensure appropriate preparation to clinical academic careers. She is a non-executive Director of Cwm Taf NHS LHB. In 2005 was awarded the RCN Welsh Board recognition of outstanding achievement and in 2009 she was award the O.B.E in the Queen’s New Year Honour list December 2008 for services to Healthcare.
Elizabeth Robb, (Hon DUniv) MA. BA (Hons.) ADM. PGCEA RN. RM.
Chief Executive, Florence Nightingale Foundation
Elizabeth Robb was appointed Chief Executive of the Florence Nightingale Foundation on 1st April 2009. Previously Elizabeth Robb has worked for the past 4 years as Director of Nursing and Deputy Chief Executive at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust. In November 2007, she was also made Director of Infection Prevention and Control. Prior to 2005 she was Director of Nursing and Clinical Governance and Deputy Chief Executive at East Somerset NHS Trust where she was also responsible for the early stages of the successful Foundation Trust application.
Elizabeth is a Registered Nurse and Midwife and retains current registration in both disciplines. She has an Advanced Diploma in Midwifery, is a Registered Midwife Teacher, and holds an honours degree in Management and a Masters Degree in Nursing. She obtained a Florence Nightingale Leadership Scholarship in 2006 which was used for both personal and organisational development opportunities. Elizabeth joined the Healthcare for London Clinical Advisory Group in December 2007 and the National Clinical Assessment Team in Summer of 2008. Elizabeth’s interests include Patient Pathway redesign and improving Models of Care, to improve clinical quality and outcome as well as the development of nurses and midwives.
In June 2008 she was made a visiting Professor in Leadership and Nursing Practice at London Southbank University, in June 2009 was made a fellow of the Institute of Innovation and Improvement. She was conferred an honorary doctorate from Thames Valley University in November 2009.
