Information
Following the inaugural presentation of the Healthcare Scientist of the Year Award at the Health and Social Care Awards in 2004, invitations to apply for the 2007 awards are now being welcomed.
The awards ceremony will be hosted by journalist and TV presenter Vivienne Parry and will be held on the evening of Tuesday 27 November during the Chief Scientific Officer’s Conference at the Holiday Inn Regent’s Park, London when we anticipate other senior members of the Department of Health being in attendance.
The six award categories are:
- Lifetime Achievement
- Healthcare Scientist of the Year
- Young Healthcare Scientist of the Year
- Innovation in Research and Development
- Innovation in Service Development
- Innovation in Workforce Modernisation
Please note that an application can be submitted directly by an individual or alternatively for a colleague (with their knowledge).

Applications will only be accepted on the official application forms and should be forwarded to the awards organisers, Glasgows, to arrive no later than 5pm on Monday 12 November 2007.
How to Enter
- Browse through the different categories by clicking the CATEGORIES link to the left of the page, carefully read the entry criteria and select which one you want to enter.
- Follow the links to download the entry form in either word or pdf format.
- Complete the form, following the instructions and paying particular attention to any requests for endorsements and testimonials.
- Submit your entry to the awards organisers, Glasgows, to arrive no later than 5pm on Monday 12 November 2007. Entries will be accepted by any of the following means:

- By Post: Mail a hard copy of your application form and supporting documents to Glasgows at the address below:

Judging
All the entries will be forwarded to the judges after Monday 12 November 2007 for scoring.
Presentation of Awards
Shortlisted nominees for all six awards will be invited to attend the awards ceremony on Tuesday 27th November 2007 where the winners will be announced.
