City Food Lecture CITY FOOD LECTURE 2007
The City Foods Lecture – over 700 attended this prestigious annual event held in the sumptuous surroundings of London’s Guild Hall
On Tuesday 23 January, Guildhall, in the City of London, was packed to its medieval rafters with an audience of more than 600 people attending the annual City Food Lecture. Entitled: ‘Food and values – the organic future’, the lecture was given by Lord Peter Melchett, Policy Director of the Soil Association, and chaired by Food Standards Agency Chair, Dame Deirdre Hutton.  Traditionally hosted by seven of the Cities Food Livery Companies the night was deemed a huge success by everyone involved.

The Food Standards Agency took over sponsorship this year and Glasgows realised that to deliver a successful event we would need to respect the historic significance of the venue and the strong traditions of the Livery Companies and fuse these together with new technologies to provide a high quality event and a platform for what is always a lively debate on the issues facing the food and allied industries.

Glasgows provided a comprehensive guest management service for over 600 attendees, including design, production & distribution of invitations, collation of responses, chase-ups of non replies, and co-ordination of personal requirements.  We provided the client with 24/7 access to the guest database and our staff were present on-site to assist with ‘meet and greet’ and hosting. Glasgows also undertook the technical and logistical requirements of the event including stage management, production with CCTV relay to the main room and working with our long-term webcasting partners, FlyOnTheWall, we produced a broadcast which is now available to view in video on demand format via our clients website www.food.gov.uk.
