Food Standards AgencyGlasgows reappointed to FSA framework contract
The Food Standards Agency has re-appointed leading event management company, Glasgows to organise its Public Open Board Meetings.
The three year appointment is the culmination of a gruelling selection process. The contract covers a range of event management services including a live and on demand webcast, podcast and live telephone listen-in service for their monthly Open Board Meetings.
The independent food safety watchdog was set up to protect the public’s health and consumer interests in relation to food. One of its three guiding principles is being open and accessible and the Open Board Meetings are one of the most demonstrable ways it provides public access to debate and the workings of the Board.
Five Meetings are scheduled to take place at the FSA’s London HQ with two others taking place at venues elsewhere in the UK. The contract also covers other internal events requiring two way broadcasts to the FSA’s offices in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and York.
“Continuing our work with the Food Standards Agency is excellent news for the company,” said Company Chairman, Ron Glasgow. He added, “The tender called for innovation and flexibility and we worked hard to put together a package offering more product and which increases interactivity with participants. This was quite a challenge as we had to ensure our costs were as tight as possible while the FSA wished to maintain a very high technical specification and quality was not to be compromised.”
The announcement comes in a week when the company has also been appointed by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills to organise two Government Science and Engineering events, by the Department of Health to organise a House of Commons reception to celebrate ten years of Local Stop Smoking Services.
