TV Nation – the unveiling of the new Media City planned for 2010 in Salford Quays
The biggest names from the UK television industry headed the line-up for the 2007 Salford Conference on Television from the Nations and Regions which took place at the Lowry Centre on 11 January. The audience included over 400 senior broadcasters, commissioners, policy makers, independents, freelancers, facilities houses, screen agencies and investors, academics and new entrants into this exciting industry.

Organised jointly by the International Media Centre at Salford University and the Northwest Regional Development Agency, the conference explored the strengths of broadcasting and production and celebrated achievements in the Nations and Regions. There was even an opportunity to ‘speed date’ the commissioners!

Glasgows’ designed and built the eye-catching stage set and supplied the stage furniture and technical equipment from stock.   We provided a Production Manager and support logistics team to undertake the pre-event technical installation and stage build, and a Technical Director on the day to co-ordinate live camera relay and recording; video playback; projection & graphic display, sound and lighting.

The Conference was hailed as a complete success, with compliments on Glasgows’ services including:
"Please can you thank the team for a superb performance on Thursday. It was such a joy to work with real professionals again and to be able to leave you all to get on with it without any worries. Everyone I spoke to commented on how great the set looked and how smoothly it all went. It has been great fun working with you. I hope we do so again.” Luise Nandy, Conference Organiser
