On Thursday 7 June 2007 the Academy for Sustainable Communities (ASC) provided the spotlight to recognise that across the country there are many individuals, groups and organisations striving to improve local communities and the lives of people who live and work in them.

Creating the Future – the ASC Awards for Sustainable Communities is the leading national awards scheme for the sustainable communities sector, and is supported by Government and a wide range of national agencies. A Future Vision Award ceremony also celebrated entries from students who provided a vision of what our communities could be in the future.

With over 200 entries for the 2007 awards, 29 projects went through to the National Awards Ceremony at the HAC Artillery Gardens in London hosted by broadcaster and journalist, Jeremy Vine.

Two sets of award ceremonies, a fabulous dinner, the Soul Traders band and the funfair combined to make the evening a real celebration.

Glasgows were invited to provide show production including the video presentation sequences for 36 nominees and winners, show scripting, catering arrangements and full event administration and logistics.
