Client: BectaTitle: Harnessing technology: Research forum 2007
Venue: RSA, London, 17 September 2007
Glasgows were delighted to win the tender for the Harnessing technology series of events, which the Research forum 2007 was the first of.
Working with only a short lead-time and picking up the delegate management process following a client mailed out diary note, Glasgows first met with Becta to plan how the Glasgows project management team could seamlessly fit in with the work already underway.
Glasgows provided two of our experienced Project Managers to design, plan and deliver the forum, whilst being overseen by a Director, who ensured consistency of approach and quality throughout.
On the run up to the forum, Becta requested that Glasgows maintain communication with all delegates, providing information such as briefing papers, symposia session descriptions and selection forms and the Harnessing Technology Review. All of this information was provided on a bespoke Research forum 2007 website, which mirrored the design and layout of Becta’s own website and the Harnessing technology brand. GEM (Glasgows Event Management) provided the client team with secure 24-7 access to delegate registrations, and allowed effective follow ups and chasers to those invitees considered as must attends.
Glasgows worked closely with the RSA, which was a complex venue having different rooms for symposia sessions on different floors and accesses through a maze of corridors and interconnecting foyers. We selected menus and refreshments that offered suitability for wide ranging tastes and worked through delegate flow during lunch to ensure there were no bottle necks or queues.
Glasgows Production Services equipped four of the RSA syndicate rooms with a comprehensive package of data and video projection and sound PA and MP3 recording.
In the evening, the forum was followed by a reception which marked that launch of the Harnessing technology review and the series of seminar events which would run through September, October and November.
Following the forum, transcriptions where provided for all of the main plenary and symposia sessions, totalling 990 minutes of recorded material.
