Glasgows were awarded the contract for the fourth successive year to organise and deliver the prestigious national Breaking Through Conference on behalf of the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement.

The annual conference aims to bring together key stakeholders, senior managers and decision makers to highlight the importance of issues of race equality within the NHS workforce. The conference asked senior managers within the NHS to reflect on strategies that enable them to have a workforce in place that reflects the population it serves; at all levels. Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) staff were also invited to listen to the views of senior decision makers on these issues.

Over 600 delegates attended the 2007 Breaking Through conference which was held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London and combined a full programme of plenary, exhibition stands, networking sessions and breakout. Keynote speakers included Lord Ara Darzi, Minister of Health, Department of Health; former Chief Executive of the NHS, Lord Nigel Crisp; and, The First Apprentice Winner, Tim Campbell.

Glasgows provided stage set design and build, full conference production and, complete delegate management services including the design and build of the conference website and the provision of online registration facilities.
