Title: Education and Information Mobile Exhibition
Venue: Roadshow around Wales 2002-2007
>
The Food Standards Agency Wales wished to promote nutrition and food hygiene messages throughout Wales.
Glasgows designed and converted a 40ft articulated trailer into a mobile educational exhibition incorporating a public walk-through area with interactive games and a heated, all-weather audience seating area. The unit has its own power source, refrigerated storage and fully working kitchen for cookery demonstrations; and includes a sound system for presentations and pantomimes with plasma screens for close-up image relay. We have our own team on ‘permanent’ secondment to provide all the logistical, management, technical and presentation elements.
The audience is primarily children and the activities and learning undertaken on the trailer form part of their broader education and link to objectives in the National Curriculum. In addition to attending Eisteddfods and other key national and regional shows, the trailer visits schools, communities and safety zones as part of the ‘crucial crew’ children’s safety programme. Annual visitor, teacher and parent surveys have demonstrated that key messages are being delivered and comments received are used to shape the trailer content and programme for the following year.
