The lecture was based on his award-winning film “An Inconvenient Truth” produced by Paramount Pictures. The lecture was chaired by Sir David King, Chief Scientific Adviser to HM Government and followed by a discussion and question and answer session chaired by Malcolm Wicks, Minister for Science and Innovation. The audience was made up of 250 distinguished guests such as Sir David Attenborough, the CEO of Sainsburys, The Director of Campaigns from Oxfam UK, the CEO of Shell UK and a Director from the Wellcome Trust.

At the end of the lecture a number of guests were invited to a private dinner. In line with the ethos of the lecture, the menu for the dinner was organic, fairtrade and sourced locally where possible.
