LUCY MEACOCK is an award-winning presenter of national and international news for ITN and for ITV Granada in Manchester. She presents national news at lunchtimes and early evening as well as weekends. She also presents a variety of news, topical debates and current affairs shows. She’s known to North West audiences as the main anchor on Granada Reports for the past 20 years.
TV WORK:
Lucy’s presented network shows - “Hearts and Minds” and This Morning. But she is best known to North West audiences as the friendly face of programmes such as Granada Reports, The Late Debate, Up Front - a live debate show with a studio audience - and The Main Ingredient. Her latest series Eye in the Sky(2007/8) was the most watched regional programme out of all ITV regional programmes across the UK last year. (29.2 per cent against Eastenders).
AWARDS:
She’s a winner of many Royal Television Society Awards for a variety of programmes. They include the judges’ award for her outstanding contribution to television in the North West.
NORTH WEST PROFILE:
Lucy has always been proud of her North West origins - she enjoys promoting the wealth of business opportunities here as well as a number of charities. To add to her workload, she writes a weekly page for an evening newspaper and recently completed voiceovers for presentations to the new sponsors of Coronation Street.
