Prime logo

PRIME

PRIME was formed over ten years ago with the active support of HRH The Prince of Wales in recognition of the hundreds of thousands of people aged 50+ who were disenfranchised from the labour market. PRIME’s main aim is to encourage people aged 50 and over to make the most of their skills and experience and to transform their lives through self-employment. Today PRIME is working to meet the needs of over 50s by conducting ground-breaking research, influencing policy at both a national and regional level and campaigning to raise awareness of enterprise among older people.

PRIME’s goal is to enable more individuals over 50 to earn a living through self-employment and here in the Northwest PRIME is influencing policy at a regional economic development level.

Working with the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), PRIME has set up a ground-breaking consultancy project - sharing PRIME’s expertise of older enterprise with major organisations in the area. Changing the way they think about over 50s - putting the needs of this growing group of the population on the map in one of the UK’s most enterprising regions.
