Conference Details
This one day conference will focus on how cities can lead the way into economic recovery. It will discuss the impact of the recession on UK and international cities, how different cities are responding now, and what all cities need to do to take advantage of the upturn.
The conference will also launch original research from The Work Foundation and OECD LEED programme on how UK and international cities should be leading the way out of the recession.
Bringing together senior leaders and policymakers from international cities and businesses, this conference will focus on:
- What has been the impact of the recession on city economies in the UK and the OECD?
- How are international cities sustaining their economies in the recession? And what can UK cities do to emulate their success?
- How can cities sustain their focus on the long-run drivers of prosperity – such as innovation, skills and ‘knowledge intensive industries’ – in a recession where there is increased pressure to focus on short-run management?
- How can cities lead the way out of recession?
